Single Valued Function:

When f is a function of one independent variable that is known as single valued function are function of one variable.

For Example:

s=s(t)=t^2 + 2t + 4

at t=1

s=7

Ordinary Differential Equation:

An equation containing the derivative of single valued function is called ordinary differential equation.

For Example:

s=s(t)=t^2 + 2t + 4

ds/dt=2t+2

Order Of Differential Equation:

The order of differential equation is the order of highest derivatives.

For Example:

((d^3 y)/dx^3 )^1+7(dy/dx)^5=100

Order=3

Degree Of Differential Equation:

The power of highest derivative is called its degree.

For Example:

((d^3 y)/dx^3 )^1+7(dy/dx)^5=100

Degree=1
